We have a new feature, Sister Tipster, where we have a one minute tip. Then we had our Early Bird drawing and the winner got a handmade journal bookmark/pen holder!
I made two different types (I made a bunch of the first one then started figuring out an easier way to do it!!)
This one is big enough for a pair of glasses or two pens, in case you like to change colors or add a scripture marking pencil
This one just takes a tiny bit of fabric. Perfect for leftover quilt scraps.
The classes started out with "The Perfect Friend" which was a great topic, to choose good friends, be a better friend to others, and most importantly to be a friend to yourself.
Then we had a quickie Scripture Marking class with a handout. We talked about color coordinating our scriptures, and it made us all think more about what we can do to get more organized with our scripture reading.
Then a long journal class! There is so much to talk about with journals I could have gone on for two weeks. There is why we should journal. What you shouldn't do when you journal, what you might want to include, different kinds of journals and how much you can bless yourself and others from keeping a journal. Here are some of the quotes:
"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream another dream." C.S. Lewis
Sooner or later a person learns to write things down. It's the best way to capture things we are apt to forget. "The strongest memory is weaker than the palest ink." `Chinese Proverb
You have always heard that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, after time goes by, a picture without words is just a picture. (donna d.)
"People often use the excuse that their lives are uneventful and nobody would be interested in what they have done. But I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. ...Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us--and as our posterity read of our life's experiences they, too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted."
President Spencer W. Kimball Speaks out on Journals, Ensign, December 1980
